its true essence.
'단장의 미아리 고개'는 1956년 발표된 곡으로 반야월 작사, 이재호 작곡,
이해연 노래로 북한군이 철수할 때 남한의 포로들을 미아리고개를 넘어
갔다고 하며 작사가 반야월은 자신의 어린 딸을 전쟁 중 피난길에 잃은
개인적 경험과 연결지어, 미아리고개에서의 이별이라는 주제로 가사를
썼다고 한다.
"The Heartbreaking Mia-ri Ridge" is a song released in 1956, written by
Ban Ya-wol, composed by Lee Jae-ho, and sung by Lee Hae-yeon.
It is said that when the North Korean army withdrew, they led South Korean
prisoners over Mia-ri Ridge. Lyricist Ban Ya-wol, who had lost his young
daughter while fleeing during the war, drew from this personal tragedy and
wrote the lyrics around the theme of parting at Mia-ri Ridge.
우리국민에게 한(恨)은 고려, 조선시대를 거쳐 몽골, 왜구, 청나라 등의
침입, 특히 20세기 일본의 식민지 지배(1910~1945)는 민족 전체에 깊은
상처를 남겼고 6.25 전쟁과 남북한 분단은 가족의 이별, 국가의 분열,
끝없는 이념 갈등을 낳으며 "풀 수 없는 한"을 만들었다.
